Our next film in the Masters of Japanese Cinema series is Akira Kurosawa’s 1961 film Yojimbo. It’s showing at the Pickford Film Center (1318 Bay Street) on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:00 pm. We’re very fortunate to have the film introduced to us by one of the people who first brought Yojimbo to the US, Everett Aison. In addition to distributing the film on its initial US release, Everett designed the gorgeous promotional literature accompanying the film, examples of which will be on hand. This will be a really special event that I am greatly looking forward to. Yojimbo will be presented in a high-def print. We invite you to join BSCA in celebrating Mongolian New Year!
With a Mongolian delegation visiting Bellingham right NOW, we have a terrific chance to celebrate Mongolian New Year in style.
What: Mongolian New Year
Where: Wade King Elementary School
When: Sunday, March 4, 1pm to 4pm
Why: To celebrate AND to raise funds for one Mongolian athlete to fly to Bellingham for Ski to Sea
How much: Suggested donation of $20 for adults/$10 for students (children under 12 are free)
