Bellingham Sister Cities Scholarship Program

The principle of providing financial support to individuals participating in Bellingham Sister Cities sponsored events is in agreement with the Bellingham Sister Cities Association (BSCA) Mission.

The Scholarship Award Committee will be made up of three Board members.

Criteria for Scholarship Awards:

1. Awards will be based on merit and need.

2. Awards will be provided exclusively for BSCA sponsored programs.

3. Awards will be available for both inbound and outbound exchanges.

4. A standard award or a maximum award amount will be established and will be restricted to a certain use. For example; an award might be given based on a fixed percentage of airfare.

5. Outbound awardees need to be members of BSCA.

6. A written report to the board following the exchange is required and may be published as an article in the newsletter.

7. BSCA Board members and their immediate families or elected officials are not eligible.

8. Awards would be accepted by the committee responsible for their administration up to one week before each scheduled board meeting and would be recommended for approval or denial at the first board meeting following application.

9. Applications would only be accepted using a BSCA Scholarship Application Form.
